Ventilated Disc Brake
Caliper · pads · ventilated disc
A floating-caliper brake with a ventilated disc. The walkthrough shows the braking sequence from line pressure to clamp, the parameters turn pressure into clamping force and braking torque, and assembly mode builds the brake up part by part.
How it's built
1 Ventilated disc Friction surface with internal cooling vanes 2 Disc hat (mounting face) Mounts the disc to the hub, passes the torque 3 Brake pads Friction material pressed onto both sides 4 Brake caliper Hydraulic clamp that straddles the disc
What the demo shows
- Braking sequence Pressure, piston, pads and disc in order, with the wheel slowing as the caliper clamps.
- Live speed and line pressure Read wheel speed, clamping force and braking torque as you change the inputs.
- Step-by-step assembly Assembly mode takes the brake apart and puts it back together in the right order.
- Caliper colours Switch the caliper between RAL and tactical finishes.
